Espaillat Province

Espaillat Province is located in the north-central Dominican Republic with fertile valleys and access to the Atlantic coastline. The landscape contains agricultural lands, towns, and municipalities connected by roads that form the backbone of commerce and daily life.

The region became an official province in 1885 and was named after Ulises Francisco Espaillat, a former president of the Dominican Republic. This naming choice honored a significant figure from the nation's early republican period.

The province is divided into five municipalities with Moca serving as the main hub for commerce and services. Roads connect the key towns and markets, making it straightforward to travel between population centers.
