The Tides, Art deco skyscraper in South Beach, Miami Beach, US
The Tides stands 49 meters tall with 11 stories, featuring geometric shapes and clean lines characteristic of 1930s architectural design on Ocean Drive.
Upon its completion in 1936, this building held the distinction of being the tallest structure in Miami Beach until 1938.
The building represents a significant period in Miami Beach development when art deco architecture transformed the coastal area into a modern urban center.
The structure contains 45 residential units and hotel rooms, each equipped with ocean view windows and maritime observation telescopes.
During the 1997 renovation, designers reduced the number of rooms from 115 to 45 to create larger spaces while maintaining original terrazzo floors.
