Doral, Modern business city in Miami-Dade County, United States
Doral is a city in Miami-Dade County, south of Hialeah and directly west of Miami International Airport. Developed areas spread on both sides of a golf course and along business roads lined with office towers and commercial buildings.
A hotel complex with a golf course stood at the site from 1962 and combined the first names of its founders into a new place name. Surrounding areas grew through real estate development and received official city status in 2003.
Residents come from more than 100 nations and create an environment where people from different countries settle and work. Shops, restaurants and public spaces reflect this worldwide origin and display names and signs in several languages.
The free bus connects residential neighborhoods to office districts and helps visitors without a car get around. Proximity to the airport makes quick transfers to the center and neighboring districts possible.
A large part of the city serves as a foreign trade zone where companies store and process goods without paying American customs directly. This feature attracts businesses from Latin America and other continents that supply the North American market from here.
