Lake Kissimmee State Park spans 24 square kilometers of wetlands, forests, prairies and three lakes: Kissimmee, Tiger and Rosalie.
The park includes a Cow Camp living history site that demonstrates Florida cattle operations from 1876 with authentic Florida scrub cattle.
Local ranchers who worked the land earned the name Cow Hunters due to their methods of tracking cattle through dense Florida wilderness.
The park provides 60 full-facility camping sites within an oak hammock, plus 20 kilometers of hiking trails and 10 kilometers of equestrian paths.
The protected area serves as habitat for 50 listed species and 200 bird species, including bald eagles, snail kites, and white cranes.
