West Orange Trail

The West Orange Trail is a paved pathway spanning 22 miles through suburban areas from Killarney Station to Vick Road in Apopka. The route connects multiple communities with various stations offering information and facilities for those using the trail.

The route follows the former Orange Belt Railway, which transported citrus during Winter Garden's peak as North America's major shipping center. This railroad shaped the region's development for decades.

Stations along the route display exhibits about the area's past, including the Central Florida Railroad Museum housed in a 1913 railroad depot. Visitors can learn how trains shaped the region and connected its communities.

The trail is accessible from sunrise to sunset, with bike rentals available at several stations if you don't have your own equipment. Planning your timing helps you avoid crowds and enjoy the most comfortable conditions.

A dedicated equestrian section near Clarcona Horse Park provides separate paths for riders, keeping the trail usable for different types of people. This setup lets walkers, cyclists, and horseback riders all use the route together without getting in each other's way.
