St. Luke Baptist Church
St. Luke Baptist Church, Gothic Revival Baptist church in Marianna, Florida, United States
The brick church structure features pointed arch windows, steep gable roofs, two distinct towers, and stained glass windows throughout the building.
Founded in 1867 along the Chipola River, the current church building was constructed in 1921 under the leadership of Reverend David Britt.
The Baptist College, established by Reverend Britt at the church, provided theological training and elementary education for Marianna's Black community.
Located at 4476 East Jackson Street, the church received recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in February 2003.
Hurricane Michael caused substantial damage to the structure in 2018, yet the church stands on one of the highest elevations in central Marianna.
