Cecil Commerce Center, Industrial development zone in Jacksonville, United States.
Cecil Commerce Center is a business park on the west side of Jacksonville, Florida, built on the grounds of a former military airfield. The site includes warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and an active airport with long runways and hangars that support aviation and freight operations.
The land was home to Naval Air Station Cecil Field, an active US Navy base that operated for decades before closing in the 1990s. The city of Jacksonville took over the property and began converting it for industrial and commercial use around the turn of the century.
The name Cecil comes from the former Naval Air Station Cecil Field, and traces of that military past are still visible in the wide runways and large hangars on the grounds. Today, workers from surrounding neighborhoods fill the area on weekdays, giving it the rhythm of a working industrial district.
The park sits close to Interstate 10 and is easy to reach by car, though most of the roads inside are designed for commercial traffic. Many facilities have restricted access, so visitors should check in advance whether the specific company or area they want to reach is open to the public.
The airfield on the grounds has one of the longest runways in Florida, originally built to handle large military jets. That unusual length now draws companies that work on aircraft maintenance and cargo planes that need more space to land and take off.
