Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts, Arts education center in Stone Mountain, Georgia
The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts was an arts education facility located on a large property in Stone Mountain. It provided space for dance instruction, theater productions, and various other artistic activities.
The facility was established in 1997 following the death of a major hip-hop artist, using resources from music royalties. It remained active for around 18 years before the property was sold in 2015.
The center provided programs in drama, dance, creative writing, and vocal techniques to youth aged twelve to eighteen through annual performing arts camps.
The center is no longer operating and is not available for visits. However, visitors can explore the surrounding area and the town of Stone Mountain to learn more about the local region.
A bronze statue once stood in a peace garden on the grounds as a memorial to the artist. After the property was sold, the statue disappeared and is no longer visible at the location.
