Murphey Candler Park

Murphey Candler Park is a major recreational property with sports fields, tennis courts, a swimming pool, playgrounds, and picnic areas arranged around a central lake. The full site offers different zones for various activities and ranks among the largest outdoor recreation spaces in the area.

This site was established in 1954 following a land donation in 1950 and became the largest recreational area in North DeKalb County. Over the decades it was expanded and outfitted to meet growing demand for sports and outdoor activities in the community.

The fields and courts here have long served as gathering places where local families come to play sports and spend time together. The baseball diamonds and tennis courts remain central to the rhythm of weekend and weekday activities throughout the year.
