Lincolnton

Lincolnton is a small city in the center of Lincoln County, situated on fairly flat terrain. Downtown is anchored by Washington Street, where you will find public buildings and local businesses.

The city was founded in 1798 and named after General Benjamin Lincoln, who led Continental forces during the American Revolution. The timing of its founding fell during the period when the region was rebuilding after the war.

The Lincoln County School District maintains three educational institutions, serving students from pre-school through high school graduation.
