San Fran Dhammaram Temple is a Buddhist place of worship located on Lincoln Way in San Francisco. The facility features a main altar with Buddha statues and several spaces for ceremonies and community gatherings.
San Fran Dhammaram Temple was established on June 24, 2002, by Venerable Acariya Thoon Khippapanyo. Its first location on 11th Avenue, provided by Ratima Chintanarod, opened on September 4, 2002, with ceremonies led by Acariya Thoon Khippapanyo and Praraj Wachirasophon. A new building was purchased in October 2008 and, as part of the Dhammayuttika Nikaya, the temple became the 50th in the Dhammayut Order of the USA. Renovations finished in January 2009, when it moved to 2645 Lincoln Way.
This place serves as a gathering point for the Thai Buddhist community in San Francisco where traditional practices come to life. You can observe how the community maintains its customs and shares its heritage with both members and visitors.

It is the only Thai Buddhist temple in San Francisco, and it belongs to the Dhammayuttika Nikaya: when it moved to 2645 Lincoln Way in 2009 it became the 50th temple of the Dhammayut Order of the United States of America. Monks such as Phra Anandapanyo, who grew up in San Francisco, teach Thai to children and adults.
