Bothe–Napa Valley State Park, California state park in Napa County, United States
Bothe-Napa Valley State Park is a nature reserve in California featuring groves of coast redwoods, oak forests, and flowing streams across varied terrain. The landscape shifts between open meadows and dense woodland, with elevation changes that support different plant communities.
The park was established in 1960 as part of California's state park system to preserve native forest for public access. This decision reflected growing conservation efforts in the mid-20th century.
The park reflects how people connect with the forest through trails and outdoor spaces designed for daily recreation and learning. Educational displays at the visitor center showcase local plants and animals that shape the region's landscape.
The park has over 16 kilometers of trails at varying difficulty levels for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. It's wise to bring water and be aware of conditions during warmer months when the forest is drier.
A seasonal swimming pool operates during summer months, giving visitors a refreshing break within the forest setting. This unusual addition for a nature reserve draws many people on hot days.
