Mowry Slough, Slough in California
Mowry Slough is a tidal slough located along the southern coast of the San Francisco Bay.
The slough is named after Nathanial Mowry, who settled in the area in the 1850s.
It's an important habitat for migratory shorebirds.
Mowry Slough can be accessed through various hiking trails in Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
Features a rare blend of salt marsh and mudflat ecosystems.
