Children's Creativity Museum

The Children's Creativity Museum is a hands-on art and media center in South San Francisco where young visitors work across multiple studio spaces. Animation, music recording, and other multimedia projects happen in specially equipped rooms throughout the building.

The museum building houses the LeRoy King Carousel from 1906, which originally operated at San Francisco's Playland at the Beach. The carousel was later moved to this location and now stands as a historic centerpiece of the complex.

The museum focuses on how children learn and create by working with technology and art materials in hands-on ways. Visitors see spaces throughout where young people are working on projects, drawing, or experimenting with digital tools.

The museum is located in the South of Market neighborhood with multiple studios spread throughout the space for visitors to explore. Adults should supervise young children, and it helps to check opening hours ahead of time since the museum is not open every day.

The Claymation Studio lets children shape their own clay characters and create stop-motion animations in real time. Visitors can take home their finished digital productions, giving them a tangible memory of what they made.
