Point Cabrillo Light, Wooden lighthouse in Caspar, United States
The Point Cabrillo Light Station stands 14 meters tall on a grassy mesa, featuring a cylindrical lantern room with a conical roof.
The lighthouse began operating in 1909 to guide lumber schooners along the Mendocino coast, filling a 115-mile gap between Point Arena and Cape Mendocino.
The station maintains its original third-order Fresnel lens, constructed by Chance Brothers, weighing 6800 pounds and containing 90 lead glass prisms.
The lighthouse emits a white flash every 10 seconds with a visibility range of 22 nautical miles, serving as a federal aid to navigation.
Three two-story Keeper's dwellings remain at the station, with the center building designated for the Head Keeper's family during active service.
