Enchanted Forest, Amusement park in Salem, Oregon, United States.
Enchanted Forest is an amusement park in Salem, located in the heart of the Willamette Valley, covering roughly 20 acres of mixed woodland with folkloric figures. The site includes several themed areas with handcrafted buildings and sculptures, as well as rides for children and families.
Roger Tofte founded the site in 1971 and invested seven years of construction time along with personal savings to build the first attractions. Since then, the Tofte family has expanded the park several times, adding new rides and themed areas.
The handcrafted figures and buildings present European fairy tale characters and mythological creatures from different traditions. In the western section, wooden sculptures feature motifs from Pacific Northwest folklore, reflecting local storytelling traditions.
Access is via Interstate 5, with operating hours that vary by season. Tickets can be purchased directly at the main entrance, and the paths through the woodland are mostly level, though some areas are set on gentle slopes.
The evening Fantasy Fountain water show combines 359 water jets with synchronized lighting to create geometric patterns. Many of the oldest attractions were crafted by hand without electric tools, which remains visible in the wooden structures on closer inspection.
