Keizer

Keizer is a city in Marion County located in the Willamette Valley, north of Salem. The community spans residential neighborhoods and commercial areas across its gently rolling terrain.

The settlement was named after Thomas Dove Keizur, who arrived in the area in 1843 with the Wagon Train and founded a community near the Willamette River. This early foundation eventually grew into the city we see today.

The annual KeizerFEST in May celebrates the community's long-standing iris-growing tradition through carnivals, crafts vendors, vintage car shows, and parades. The event shows how much this horticultural heritage remains a source of local pride.

The city is easily accessible by car with ample parking throughout most areas. Visitors can navigate the main roads and explore different neighborhoods on foot at their own pace.

Keizer Rapids Park offers boat-in camping facilities alongside nature trails and disc golf courses along the Willamette River. The park combines outdoor recreation with direct access to the river in a natural setting.
