Marion Street Bridge, Road bridge in Salem, Oregon.
Marion Street Bridge is a road bridge spanning the Willamette River between Salem and West Salem in Oregon. The structure carries two westbound lanes and forms part of the Oregon Route 22 highway corridor.
Construction finished in 1954, making it the longest structure of its type west of the Mississippi River at that time. The completion represented a major step forward in transportation infrastructure for Marion County.
The bridge connects communities on both sides of the Willamette River, forming a primary transportation link for residents of Marion County.
Vehicles can access the bridge from Marion Street, Commercial Street, and a quarter-loop ramp added from Front Street in 1981. These multiple entry points make it easy to reach the crossing from different directions.
It uses a plate girder design and works with the Center Street Bridge in a one-way pair system across the river. This parallel arrangement splits traffic flow between both shores in a coordinated way.
