Oregon State University is a public research university in Corvallis that covers about 420 acres and offers more than 200 undergraduate programs across 11 colleges. Around 37,000 students are currently enrolled in bachelor, master and doctoral programs.
The institution began in 1856 as Corvallis Academy and transformed into an agricultural college in 1868. University status was reached in 1961, after being known as Oregon State College from 1937 onwards.
The main campus along Monroe Avenue shows brick buildings from different decades that now house laboratories, libraries and lecture halls. Many paths between faculties are lined with trees, and students sit on lawns between classes.
The facility has numerous research laboratories, specialized workshops and a large library system that students and visiting scholars can use. Many online degree programs are available and provide flexible learning options for working professionals and international participants.
