Bald Peak

Bald Peak rises to 1,624 feet above sea level as the highest point in the Chehalem Mountains, offering panoramic views of the Willamette Valley and surrounding Oregon landscape.

The summit was established as a state scenic viewpoint in 1931 through land purchased from private owners and was once considered as a memorial site for Oregon pioneer women in 1939.

The peak serves as a popular destination for hikers, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate the Pacific Northwest's natural beauty and recreational opportunities.

Visitors can access the 26-acre state park year-round for day use, with parking facilities available but no drinking water on-site, requiring preparation for hiking activities.

The summit was significantly impacted by a wildfire in September 2020 that burned 875 acres, caused by a campfire on private property near the mountain.
