Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, Wildlife park and nature reserve in Eatonville, Washington, US.
Northwest Trek Wildlife Park is a nature reserve spanning over 700 acres with habitats designed for black bears, wolves, moose, and mountain goats native to the region. Much of the space consists of a free-roaming area where animals live without barriers, while another section offers walking paths for close observation.
The park was created in 1975 when David and Connie Hellyer donated their vacation property to Metro Parks Tacoma for wildlife conservation. This gift established the foundation for what became a major facility for protecting Pacific Northwest animals.
The park teaches visitors about Pacific Northwest wildlife through guided programs and talks given by animal specialists throughout the day.
You can ride a tram through the free-roaming section or drive your own vehicle to see animals from the comfort of your car. The park offers walking areas as well, giving you flexibility in how you explore the space.
A special Jeep adventure tour takes visitors off-road with an animal specialist for close encounters with native animals in remote sections of the park. This experience offers views of wildlife that typical visits cannot provide.
