Port Orchard is a city in Kitsap County situated on the eastern shore of Sinclair Inlet, where residential neighborhoods connect with waterfront zones. The town spreads across rolling terrain with access to inlets and marine areas.
The settlement originated in the mid-1800s with the establishment of a sawmill along the local waters. Formal town planning followed a few decades later and shaped the layout that partly remains today.
