Greater Vancouver Zoo, Zoo in Langley, Canada.
Greater Vancouver Zoo is a 120-acre facility in Aldergrove that houses around 140 animal species in naturalistic enclosures spread across the grounds. Each area is designed to replicate the animals' native environments and allow them to move freely.
The zoo opened in 1970 as Vancouver Game Farm and later became Greater Vancouver Zoological Centre in 1995. It adopted its current name in 1999 and has operated under this title ever since.
The zoo offers hands-on learning experiences where visitors encounter animals from around the world and understand their natural behaviors. These programs help people develop a genuine connection with wildlife and appreciation for their habitats.
The zoo sits in the Fraser Valley and opens daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, giving visitors plenty of time to explore. Ample free parking is available right at the entrance, making it easy to get around by car.
A highlight is the safari bus ride through the North American Wilds exhibit where black bears, Vancouver Island wolves, and Roosevelt elk share the same space. This experience lets visitors get closer to the animals than typical zoo viewing from paths alone.
