Bothell, Suburban area in Seattle metropolitan region, United States.
Bothell is a suburb in King and Snohomish Counties in Washington State, spreading along the Sammamish River near the northeastern end of Lake Washington. The settlement sits about 75 feet (23 meters) above sea level and connects residential neighborhoods with commercial districts and higher education facilities.
The Bothell family arrived in the area in 1870 and established a settlement that later became incorporated as a town in 1909. During the following decades, the region developed from a logging and farming zone into a modern suburb.
Many residents spend time on the paths along the Sammamish River, which run through parks and across restored wetlands. The open green spaces with views of the water provide room for daily walks and jogging loops.
Interstate 405 connects the area with Seattle and surrounding communities in the metropolitan region. Drivers reach the area quickly, while public transit serves several stops.
Biotechnology and technology firms settled in the region starting in the late 1980s and transformed the former agricultural landscape into a hub for modern industry. Today, research facilities and company headquarters occupy the commercial zones along main thoroughfares.
