Harry Vanderbilt Wurdemann House

The Harry Vanderbilt Wurdemann House is a wood-frame residence designed in Mediterranean villa style, featuring two porticos with eight columns each on a concrete foundation. The structure sits on elevated ground that provides views across the water from its hillside position.

Built in 1914, this house was among the earliest structures in Lake Forest Park when the community was first taking shape. Its inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 acknowledged its importance to the area's architectural development.

The residence served as a venue for musical performances that drew people from across the region to experience concerts in its grand rooms. This use reflected how prominent homes functioned as cultural centers within the community during much of the 20th century.

The property sits on Bothell Way NE in an elevated location that is noticeable from the road level. Visitors should expect steps or sloped paths when approaching and exploring the grounds.
