Nooksack Tower

Nooksack Tower is a summit in North Cascades National Park that reaches about 8,285 feet in elevation. It sits within the Mount Shuksan massif and forms a jagged peak surrounded by steep terrain.

The peak took shape through mountain uplift and intense glacial activity over millions of years. These processes created the sharp ridges and jagged features visible on the summit today.

Local mountaineers consider Nooksack Tower among the most challenging climbing objectives in the Cascade Range due to its technical requirements.

The climb is steep and technical, requiring solid mountaineering skills and good physical fitness. Visitors should prepare for rapidly changing weather and bring appropriate gear for high-altitude conditions.

Three glaciers hug the base of the summit, creating an impressive system of ice-covered slopes. This glacial landscape shifts gradually over time, changing the mountain's appearance from year to year.
