Cutthroat Peak, Mountain summit in North Cascades, Canada.
Cutthroat Peak is a mountain summit in the North Cascades with two distinct points of elevation. The steep south side features exposed granite, while the north ridge provides a more moderate approach with multiple climbing options.
The summit was first climbed in 1937 via the western ridge route. Official geographic naming recognition came several decades later in the late 1980s.
The mountain received its official name recognition from the United States Board on Geographic Names in 1988, marking its significance in regional geography.
Access is available through multiple routes suited to different climbing levels. Be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions and always check rock conditions before starting your climb.
Two separate summit points define this peak, each at slightly different elevations. This double-summit structure draws climbers who want to reach both tops during a single ascent.
