Hock Mountain rises to an elevation of 7,750 feet with steep granitic rock faces on its northern side and moderate slopes to the west.
The mountain stands at the intersection of three protected territories: North Cascades National Park, Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness, and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area.
The mountain serves as a natural boundary between Chelan and Okanogan counties, representing the geographical divisions of Washington State's administrative territories.
Hikers access the peak through Bridge Creek Pacific Crest Trail trailhead east of Rainy Pass, following multiple junctions to reach Stiletto Spur trail.
Water from the mountain flows in different directions: north and west into the Stehekin River through Bridge Creek, south and east into South Fork Twisp River.
