Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, Resort hotel and casino on Las Vegas Strip, US
Treasure Island is a hotel tower with a casino in Paradise, Nevada, that rises 36 floors and houses nearly three thousand rooms. The gaming floor spans about 8,800 square meters (95,000 sq ft) and includes several restaurants arranged along the ground level corridors.
The property opened in October 1993 and was among the first large projects that steered Las Vegas toward family entertainment during the 1990s. After several renovations the pirate theme gradually disappeared, while the building kept its form as a modern casino resort.
The name comes from Robert Louis Stevenson's adventure novel, which once shaped the building's design with a pirate theme. Today the property hosts a Cirque du Soleil show that runs almost every evening, filling a theater where visitors can watch acrobats and dancers perform.
A tram system links the property directly to the neighboring building, so guests can move between both on foot. Free parking is available for anyone staying overnight in a room.
The tropical pool area offers private cabanas with ceiling fans and a refrigerator that guests can rent for a full day. Each cabana comes with a personal host who serves drinks and snacks directly at the lounge chair.
