The Venetian

This resort reproduces landmarks from Venice, including waterways, arched bridges, and building fronts inspired by the Italian Renaissance. Guest rooms occupy two connected towers, while public areas recreate plazas and arcades modeled after the historic center of Venice.

The property opened in May 1999 after demolition of the previous building on the site. A few years later, the owners expanded the complex by adding another tower and new public areas.

Performers dressed in period clothing guide gondolas along indoor waterways while singing traditional songs. These trips take place throughout the day and draw visitors who want to experience a version of Venice without leaving the desert.

Main areas sit on the ground floor and first level, where shops, dining rooms, and the gaming floor are located. Visitors can walk along the canals or step outside to the pool areas when they need a break from the air-conditioned interior.

The ceiling paintings indoors imitate the sky over Venice and change according to the time of day to show sunrise and sunset. This effect is achieved through special lighting that creates the impression of a real sky.
