Sphere is a music venue and dome structure located next to The Venetian Resort in Paradise, Nevada. The round structure reaches a height of roughly 111 meters and a width of about 157 meters, with an exterior shell made of programmable LED screens covering an area of approximately 54,000 square meters.
Madison Square Garden Company announced the project in February 2018, working in partnership with Las Vegas Sands Corporation. The opening took place on September 29, 2023, with a concert series by the Irish band U2.
The building functions today as a site for major concerts and immersive shows that draw visitors from around the world. It has quickly become a popular destination for travelers seeking an extraordinary audiovisual experience in Las Vegas.
The interior holds about 18,600 seated visitors and features around 160,000 speakers distributed throughout the space. The audio configuration ensures that each viewer receives individually tailored sound quality.
The system combines wind machines, temperature controls, and scent effects to create a multidimensional sensory experience. About 10,000 seats are additionally equipped with haptic technology that allows vibrations and tactile impulses during performances.
