The Palazzo, Hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States
The Palazzo is a skyscraper in Paradise that rises 196 meters (643 feet) across 53 floors in a postmodern style. Eight elevators connect the levels along the Las Vegas Strip.
Construction began in September 2004 on the site of the Tam O'Shanter motel, demolished that February after asbestos removal. The casino opened on December 30, 2007, the hotel on January 4, 2008, and the $1.9 billion resort was sold to Apollo Global Management and Vici Properties in 2022.
The building draws on Italian palace motifs, visible in its arches, columns and marble surfaces. This design continues into the guest rooms, where warm tones and classical lines recall historical residences.
Walkways link the building to the neighboring The Venetian, offering access to more restaurants and shops. These connections make moving between the two complexes easier.
The site once held the Tam O'Shanter motel, opened in 1959 with 100 rooms and a neon sign shaped like a tam o' shanter cap. Owner Bernie Zeldin turned down Howard Hughes' purchase offers before agreeing in 1997 to sell to Las Vegas Sands for $12.5 million.
