The Westin Las Vegas is a hotel at 160 East Flamingo Road in Paradise, Nevada, with 825 rooms, a spa, three restaurants and a 185-seat theater. Its broad facade has cream-colored wings with rows of small square windows, a dark gray band of larger windows at the top, and a taller central section clad in dark gray with a vertical column of blue-tinted windows and the word "WESTIN" near its top. Dark awnings project from the base, and a tall reddish-brown signpost with a vertical pinkish panel stands at the right edge.

The Maxim Hotel and Casino opened on July 1, 1977, built for $25 million by ten Nevada businessmen, including owners of Reno's Club Cal Neva. After years of decline and a 2001 closure, Columbia Sussex bought it for $38 million and spent $90 million on a remodel, reopening it on November 6, 2003, as The Westin Casuarina, named after their Cayman Islands resort. It became The Westin Las Vegas after the casino closed in July 2017.

The name Casuarina, used from 2003, came from Columbia Sussex's Westin resort on Grand Cayman. The hotel was among the first in Las Vegas to ban smoking in almost all areas, allowing it only in a designated casino zone. Its small casino had fewer than 300 slot and video poker machines and ten table games, and it closed in July 2017.

The hotel stands on Flamingo Road at the corner of Koval Lane, just east of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise. The Tropicana Avenue intersection in front of the building is where rapper Tupac Shakur was shot in 1996. The property is a short drive from McCarran International Airport.

The Maxim was the setting for the 1987 Matlock episode "The Gambler" and appeared in the pilot of the ABC series Vega$, with Robert Urich as detective DanTanna. In 1996 rapper Tupac Shakur was shot in a BMW stopped on Tropicana Avenue in front of the casino; he died a week later.
