Park Towers, Public building in Clark County, United States
Park Towers is a 20-story twin-tower condominium property in Paradise, Nevada, east of the Las Vegas Strip. Completed in 2001, the two towers contain 84 residential units on a 3.8-acre site at the Hughes Center business park. Portions were designed by JMA Architecture Studios, and $1 million was spent on landscaping.
Park Towers was announced in March 1998 as The Park at Hughes Center, a $100 million two-tower condominium with 84 units on 3.8 acres of the Hughes Center business park. Groundbreaking came in April 1999 after delays, and Steve Wynn joined as developer and designer that July. The first residents moved in during March 2001, and completion was celebrated that July.
Park Towers takes its name from the Hughes Center business park where it stands, on Howard Hughes Parkway near Flamingo and Paradise Roads. The twin towers were marketed with 24-hour camera footage of their construction on the project's website, and the building later lent its name to a Las Vegas condominium boom that began in 2003, alongside Turnberry Place.
Park Towers is a private residential condominium, not a public building, so there are no visitor facilities or tours. The twin towers stand on 3.8 acres at the Hughes Center business park, on Howard Hughes Parkway near Flamingo and Paradise Roads, east of the Strip. Residents' elevators scan a security card before moving.
The towers' website once carried 24-hour camera footage of construction, and the elevators were planned to stay put until they scanned a resident's security card. Developer Steve Wynn bought a $4 million penthouse, later sold to MGM Mirage executive Marc Schorr, who listed the 9,000 sq ft two-story unit at $9.8 million in 2013.
