Shadow Creek Golf Course, Private golf course in North Las Vegas, Nevada, US.
Shadow Creek Golf Course is a private golf course in North Las Vegas that spreads across more than 350 acres and is defined by dense tree lines, small lakes, and gentle hills. The layout extends nearly 7,560 yards and feels like an enclosed woodland completely screened from the outside world.
The course was built in the late 1980s and opened by Steve Wynn as an exclusive facility for guests of his hotels. Tom Fazio designed the grounds and transformed flat desert land into an enclosed artificial landscape.
The name comes from the artificial shade cast by tall trees over the fairways, creating a forest-like feel on this secluded course. Players move through a landscape that recalls old woodland estates, with nothing in common with the surrounding desert.
Access is only available to guests of certain hotels and booking is arranged in advance through the accommodation. Transport from the hotel to the course is organized and the facility remains closed to the general public.
More than 20,000 mature trees were transported and planted here to create the impression of an established forest. The site has its own waterfalls and streams fed by a closed circulation system.
