Kyle Ranch, Historic ranch and National Register site in North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
Kyle Ranch is a historic ranch listed on the National Register of Historic Places in North Las Vegas, featuring an adobe structure, a wooden building called the Doll House, a cemetery, and an artesian well surrounded by wetlands. The City of North Las Vegas maintains the site as Kiel Ranch Historic Park, preserving these buildings and natural features for visitors.
Conrad Kiel founded the ranch in 1875, establishing one of only two major agricultural operations in the Las Vegas Valley during the 19th century. The property later transformed into a guest destination and eventually became a public historic park, surviving as a rare remnant of the region's pioneer settlement era.
The property operated as the Boulderado Dude Ranch from 1939 to 1958, drawing visitors who came during a time when Nevada offered simplified divorce procedures. The site reflects a specific chapter in regional life when such establishments held cultural significance.
The site is open to the public as a park with clearly marked pathways, allowing visitors to walk through and view the various buildings and features at their own pace. The location within the city makes it easy to access, and the open grounds are best enjoyed during cooler months when temperatures are more comfortable for exploring.
Five bodies from the ranch cemetery were exhumed in 1975 and returned during a ceremony on November 11, 2022, honoring the early inhabitants of the land. This reinterment marked a meaningful moment in recognizing and respecting the people whose lives were connected to this place.
