Arrow Canyon Wilderness, Protected wilderness area in Clark County, Nevada.
Arrow Canyon Wilderness is a protected area featuring distinctive rock walls with bands of black and white carbonate and quartzite stone. Sedimentary cliffs rise thousands of feet and dominate the landscape throughout the site.
The area gained protected status in 2002 through legislation that recognized it as wilderness worthy of preservation. This designation secured the land from development and established it as a protected refuge.
Rock walls bear ancient petroglyphs and show signs of early occupation with roasting pits and shelter sites. These markings reflect how people once lived and used this canyon.
Access is via Highway 168 heading east from Interstate 15, with limited parking for standard vehicles available near the municipal well. Visitors should prepare for rough conditions and few services in the area.
The canyon walls stand so close and rise so high that sunlight rarely reaches the bottom during winter months. This creates a shadowy environment for much of the year in the deepest sections.
