North Campground, Campground in Bryce Canyon National Park, United States
North Campground is a campground within Bryce Canyon National Park situated at about 2,400 meters (7,900 feet) elevation amid colorful rock formations. The site has 99 spaces with paved roads, flush toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, and fire rings.
The campground was established to provide visitors with central lodging within Bryce Canyon National Park. Since its creation, it has served as an access point to natural landmarks and observation areas in this region.
The campground draws stargazers in summer, especially during the annual Astronomy Festival in June, when visitors observe the dark night skies. This tradition has made the place a gathering point for people interested in celestial observation.
The campground operates year-round and sits within walking distance of the Visitor Center. From here, guests can directly access hiking trails and viewpoints in the Bryce Amphitheater area.
The rock formations around the campground glow in particularly intense red hues at sunrise and sunset. This intense coloring comes from iron oxide within the layers and makes dawn and dusk times visually striking.
