Lake Mansion

Lake Mansion is a residential building showcasing Renaissance Revival architecture in Reno. The structure features a hipped roof with a widow's walk and occupies a compact footprint on Court Street.

The building was constructed in 1877 and purchased by Reno founder Myron Lake two years later. It gained National Register recognition in 1972 for its historical value.

The mansion represents Late Victorian and Italianate architectural elements that characterized residential construction during Nevada's early development period.

The house is located on Court Street and is visible from the street, making it easy to view from outside. Its downtown Reno position puts it within walking distance of other city sites.

The house was relocated twice: first to the Convention Center in 1971 and then to its current location in 2004. These moves are surprising because the structure retained its historical integrity throughout both transfers.
