Reno–Tahoe International Airport, International airport in Reno, Nevada, United States
Reno-Tahoe International Airport is a commercial airport in Nevada, located about ten minutes by car southeast of downtown Reno. The facility sits at an elevation of roughly 4,400 feet (1,340 meters) and operates three concrete runways across a large area.
The site began in 1929 as Hubbard Field when Boeing Transport Inc established a landing strip here. The City of Reno acquired the facility in the early 1950s and transformed it into a civilian airport.
The terminal honors a former US Senator through its official designation, while the main lobby displays a permanent exhibition featuring personal items and documents. Travelers often notice photographs and memorabilia from Nevada political history alongside references to local figures who shaped the region.
The terminal is close to major access roads and clearly signposted when approaching Reno from the south or east. Passengers will find several entrances and zones organized by airline and gate clusters.
Inside the arrival areas, there are fenced zones where dogs can move around and stretch while their owners wait for luggage. The building also displays a dedicated art collection focused on environmental themes and sustainability arranged along the corridors.
