Its complex holds a digital movie theater, five restaurants including a buffet, four bars, a performance stage and a three-story parking garage. A William Hill race and sports book sits inside the casino, and a Marriott Courtyard hotel stands adjacent.

Casino Fandango opened in 2003 as one of the most ambitious entertainment investments Carson City had seen in years. Its arrival brought new jobs to the area and helped draw visitors to a city better known for its role as the state capital than as a gaming destination.

The name Fandango refers to a Spanish dance, and the casino's complex includes a performance stage alongside its five restaurants and four bars. In 2010 readers of the Nevada Appeal voted it the Premier Entertainment Destination in Carson City, a recognition tied to that mix of dining, film and live performance rather than gaming alone.

The complex sits on South Carson Street in Carson City, with a three-story parking garage on site and a Marriott Courtyard hotel next door. The William Hill race and sports book is inside the casino. Pari-mutuel wagering ended on December 31, 2018, so off-track betting is no longer offered here; Bodines is the remaining option in the city.

Carson City is the state capital of Nevada but has never been a major gaming hub the way Las Vegas or Reno are. That makes Casino Fandango one of the few casinos in the country operating within a US state capital city.
