Midvale, Urban center in Salt Lake County, Utah
Midvale is a city in Salt Lake County located south of Salt Lake City that spans across several miles. The Jordan River forms its western boundary.
Pioneers established a permanent settlement here in 1851, and the community became an incorporated city in 1909. This early foundation shaped how the area developed over the following centuries.
The annual Harvest Days Festival brings residents together to celebrate local food, music, and crafts that reflect the community's heritage. This gathering shows how people here maintain connections to their regional traditions and shared identity.
The city has several schools including elementary facilities and Hillcrest High School, which serves grades 8 through 12. Families can access education options across different grade levels throughout the community.
The Bingham Junction area was transformed from an abandoned industrial site into a restored natural space. This reclamation project demonstrates how communities can give new purpose to neglected land.
