La Gardiole

La Gardiole is a mountain summit in the French Alps that rises to 2,753 meters elevation. The terrain features exposed rock and steep slopes characteristic of high Alpine peaks.

The summit has long marked boundaries between four surrounding municipalities, with ancient stones placed to indicate territorial divisions. These markers have guided people crossing the mountain over generations.

On clear days, visitors can see from the summit all the way to the Mediterranean Sea and even the island of Corsica in the distance. These expansive views occur only under favorable atmospheric conditions.
