Weber State University, Public university in Ogden, United States.
Weber State University is a public campus institution in Ogden, Utah, covering open grounds dotted with academic halls and student housing. Its central zone gathers classrooms, laboratories, and the Stewart Library, linking the different departments together.
The institution began in 1889 as Weber Stake Academy, a religious school for young people in the area. It later became a junior college before receiving full university status in 1991.
The campus goes by "WSU" and its athletic teams carry the Wildcats name, a nod to the mountain cats found in the Wasatch Range. Students regularly gather around the Wattis-Dumke fountain at the heart of campus grounds.
The campus sits east of downtown Ogden and is easily spotted from the surrounding mountains. Visitors will find signage pointing to major buildings, with parking areas spread along the access roads.
The site lies between the Wasatch Mountains and the Great Salt Lake, creating a sharp contrast between alpine terrain and desert climate. Some buildings already use heat pump systems, part of a wider plan to reach carbon neutrality by 2040.
