The Glen Canyon Dam Bridge is a steel arch structure that spans approximately 387 meters across the Colorado River. The roadway sits about 213 meters above the water surface and connects both shores with a straightforward, functional design.
The bridge was built in 1959 by the US Bureau of Reclamation to transport construction materials for the nearby dam project. Later, it became a major transportation route between Arizona and Utah on US Route 89.
