La Berra

La Berra is an alpine summit in Canton of Fribourg that rises to 1719 meters and offers views across Lake Gruyère. The terrain features multiple hiking paths through mountain meadows, with ski slopes and various lift systems available during winter months.

This location developed in the 1950s when mechanical lifts were installed to support winter sports activities. That infrastructure marked the beginning of the mountain's modern recreational use.

Local mountain restaurants serve traditional Swiss alpine cuisine shaped by the rhythms of the seasons. Herders continue to use the meadows for seasonal cattle grazing, a practice that defines the rhythm of life here.

The mountain is accessible via multiple routes that offer varying conditions depending on the season. Visitors should prepare for variable weather and bring appropriate gear for summer or winter activities.

The mountain features a disc golf course during summer that adapts to changing seasonal conditions. In winter, five designated snowshoe trails provide additional ways to explore the terrain throughout the year.
