Tanzhaus Zürich

The Tanzhaus Zürich extends along the Limmat River with a tiered structure featuring two performance stages and three professional dance studios of 100 square meters each.

Following a fire in 2012 that destroyed the municipal building housing both Tanzhaus and Swiss Textile School, architectural firm Estudio Barozzi Veiga created the new structure in 2019.

The center brings together professional dancers, international companies, and young performers through workshops, classes, productions, and performances throughout the dance season.

The center contains production rooms, a multifunctional hall, dedicated spaces for professional rehearsals, and areas for public activities spread across two main levels.

The building incorporates a roof that functions as a public space, while its trapezoidal form enhances natural light distribution through the interior spaces.
