Red Palace and Red Square, National heritage site in Haicheng Town, Haifeng County, China
The Red Palace stands in the center of Haifeng with a main Dacheng Hall featuring five bays and traditional brick-timber construction methods.
In November 1927, the Workers, Farmers and Soldiers Congress gathered at the former Confucian Temple, establishing the first soviet government in rural China.
The Dacheng Hall preserves elements of Ming Dynasty architecture while incorporating educational spaces and ceremonial areas for community gatherings.
Located on Renmin Road in downtown Haifeng, the complex includes exhibition halls displaying artifacts and documents from the revolutionary period.
The walls and interior surfaces received red paint and cloth coverings in 1927, transforming the Confucian Temple into a symbol of revolutionary change.
