Xichong, Shenzhen

Xichong is a coastal beach on the Dapeng Peninsula with a long sandy shoreline sitting between two bays. The beach is gentle and wide, suitable for swimming and water activities.

The Dapeng Peninsula received recognition from Chinese National Geographic in 2006 as one of China's finest natural locations. This designation brought the area to the attention of many travelers and nature enthusiasts.

Local fishing families work along the shore in ways passed down through generations, selling their catch at nearby markets.

The beach is most easily reached by public bus from different parts of the city, with multiple routes serving the area. The best time to visit is during warmer months when the water is comfortable for swimming.

A hiking trail about 10 kilometers long connects this beach to a neighboring bay, offering views of mountains and the sea along the way. The path is accessible and passes through different coastal landscapes.
