Astropark

Astropark is an observation space within the Chong Hing Water Sports Centre offering astronomical instruments and dedicated viewing areas for exploring the night sky. The facility contains historical pieces alongside contemporary equipment for different types of celestial study.

The park opened in 2010 as a public astronomy education facility featuring both historical and modern instruments. Since its establishment, it has served as a place where people can learn about the stars and practice observation.

The site blends Eastern and Western approaches to studying the sky, with displays showing how different cultures have observed the heavens across centuries. Objects from ancient China sit alongside modern tools, telling a story of shared human curiosity.

The best times to visit are early mornings or clear nights when stars are visible and crowds are small. Wear comfortable walking shoes, as reaching the site involves walking along outdoor paths.

The park features special reclining benches positioned for comfortable constellation study without strain on the neck. This thoughtful design encourages visitors to spend more time observing and learning about the patterns overhead.
